New Joplin, Mo. Hospital Battles Tornadoes with Masonry Walls

RESTON, Va. — A new Joplin, Mo. hospital will employ a powerful combination of masonry and glass exteriors to combat future tornadoes. Rebuilding from the catastrophic EF-5 rated tornado in May 2011 that killed five patients and one visitor, the new seven-story Mercy Hospital Joplin will use harder, tornado-resistant exteriors to replace the destroyed St. John’s Regional Medical Center.

Stamford Hospital Relocates Entrances to Bennett Cancer Center and Whittingham Pavilion for Hospital Construction to Begin

As the groundbreaking for the new Stamford Hospital draws closer, Stamford Hospital has relocated the entrances for the Bennett Cancer Center and Whittingham Pavilion. Both facilities are now accessible from a single entrance on the east side of the Whittingham Pavilion.

Group Health Puyallup Medical Center First to Earn LEED-HC Certification

LEED-HC was developed by the U.S. Green Building Council to reward the highest-performing and healthiest medical buildings.

Banner Health Center to open May 1 in Queen Creek, Arizona

Artist rendering small of QC health center 2QUEEN CREEK, Ariz.– Banner Health will open its first medical facility in the Town of Queen Creek on May 1, with the Banner Health Center offering primary care, basic imaging and lab services for adults and children. Staff physicians will include a family practitioner and pediatrician, with more physicians already planned as the center grows with community needs. The center includes 18 exam rooms, and its electronic medical records are accessible from all Banner hospitals and facilities.
