Modernizing the CHU Sainte-Justine: A Major Investment for Mothers, Children and Teenagers

nouvelle_communique_17-08-2010The Quebec government approved a $995-million (CAD) budget to modernize the CHU Sainte-Justine’s existing facilities and to build a new facility of specialized units and the research centre. The announcement, made by Quebec Premier Jean Charest in company of Health Minister Yves Bolduc, and Environment Minister and Member for Mount-Royal Pierre Arcand, was received with great enthusiasm by the CHU Sainte-Justine and its foundation.

Medical Campus to be Built by Longmont United Hospital and Poudre Valley Health System

FORT COLLINS, COLO -- Longmont United Hospital and Poudre Valley Health System announced recently that they will jointly build a medical campus on 70 acres at I-25 and Highway 52 in southwest Weld County.

The medical campus will be located within the town limits of Frederick and will serve residents throughout the region.  A site master plan for the campus will be under development until late fall, with the initial construction expected to be an urgent care center, followed by other medical facilities.

UT System Board of Regents Approves Plans for 12-story, 424-bed University Hospital

602593New_hospital_renderingDALLAS -- The UT System Board of Regents today gave its approval to plans for a new state-of-the-art University Hospital at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. The project now will go to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board for its review and final approval.

As planned, the new hospital will replace University Hospital - St. Paul, which opened in 1963 and has become too costly to maintain and renovate as an academic medical center in the years ahead, according to Dr. Daniel K. Podolsky, president of UT Southwestern.

Saint Joseph-London Prepares to Move Hospital One Patient at a Time

With support from surrounding counties’ EMS teams, patients will transfer to the new replacement hospital every three minutes

After more than a year of training, planning and preparation, the staff of Saint Joseph – London is preparing for the patient transfer to the brand new hospital. At 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 19, staff members will begin moving patients one-by-one from the existing downtown hospital to the new replacement facility located off I-75 at Exit 38. Both hospitals will remain operational during the entire move to provide seamless and uninterrupted patient care.
