Saint Joseph-London Prepares to Move Hospital One Patient at a Time

With support from surrounding counties’ EMS teams, patients will transfer to the new replacement hospital every three minutes

After more than a year of training, planning and preparation, the staff of Saint Joseph – London is preparing for the patient transfer to the brand new hospital. At 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 19, staff members will begin moving patients one-by-one from the existing downtown hospital to the new replacement facility located off I-75 at Exit 38. Both hospitals will remain operational during the entire move to provide seamless and uninterrupted patient care.

Sheila Elijah-Barnwell to Oversee Healthcare Research and Education Efforts at HDR

Elijah-Barnwell_Sheila_14914-10_casual_grey_03_06Sheila Elijah-Barnwell, Ph.D., AIA, has been appointed to the newly-created position of Director, Healthcare Research and Education for HDR Architecture, Inc. She will be responsible for spearheading efforts to establish university-based healthcare design educational programs across the nation similar to the one HDR is currently sponsoring at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, as well as identifying and coordinating research efforts with HDR’s healthcare consultants to help grow the body of knowledge that supports evidence-based design efforts. Elijah-Barnwell will also be tasked with internal healthcare educational efforts, and will also maintain her role as design architect.

ST LOUIS – Taking safety to the next level, Clayco Inc. has announced a new partnership with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to create unparalleled safety standards during construction of the Missouri Baptist Medical Center West Pavilion project in Town & Country, Mo.

In a signing ceremony held August 3, 2010, the project teams – including Clayco Inc., Legacy Building Group, Murphy Company, Sachs Electric, and the OSHA-St Louis Area Office – pledged support of a continued commitment to safety on the jobsite. The subcontractors involved in the project will also be incorporated into the partnership upon selection.
