Clayco Creates New Safety Partnership with OSHA

Unparalleled safety standards planned for hospital expansion project

ST LOUIS – Taking safety to the next level, Clayco Inc. has announced a new partnership with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to create unparalleled safety standards during construction of the Missouri Baptist Medical Center West Pavilion project in Town & Country, Mo.

In a signing ceremony held August 3, 2010, the project teams – including Clayco Inc., Legacy Building Group, Murphy Company, Sachs Electric, and the OSHA-St Louis Area Office – pledged support of a continued commitment to safety on the jobsite. The subcontractors involved in the project will also be incorporated into the partnership upon selection.

Proposed New Third Hospital for Central Florida Health Alliance

Planning Ahead for the Growth of Lake & Sumter Counties

Leesburg & The Villages, FL  -- Central Florida Health Alliance, parent company of Leesburg Regional Medical Center and The Villages Health System, announced that a Letter of Intent has been filed with the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) to secure a Certificate of Need for the construction of a new hospital to be built in Sumter County, off Route 44 near Wildwood.

Chelsea Community Hospital Embarks on $60 Million Renovation

Chelsea Community Hospital is beginning a $60 million renovation to build a new two-story wing, convert all its semiprivate rooms to private rooms and change the main entrance of the hospital that is licensed for 113 beds.

The Chelsea project also includes a new emergency department, diagnostic imaging center and renovation of the cardiopulmonary and physical therapy areas, said Kathleen Griffiths, Chelsea's CEO.

Baylor Medical Center at Garland Unveils Emergency Department Expansion and Renovation

DALLAS -- t. howard + associates (THA), designer and architect of record, participated in the grand opening of a major expansion and renovation for Baylor Medical Center at Garland's emergency department.  The project included extensive renovation of the existing 20,300 square feet and the addition of 4,300 additional square feet, and now accommodates three radiology rooms, one trauma room with seven critical care treatment rooms, a new triage unit, and 18 treatment rooms.

GS&P Receives AIA Birmingham Award for Design of Crisp Regional Hospital Addition

Birmingham, Ala. -- Gresham, Smith and Partners, a leading multi-disciplinary design and consulting firm for the built environment, is pleased to announce the firm received an Award of Merit from the Birmingham Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) in their annual design awards program.  Honored for design of a 28,000 square-foot addition at Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia, the design team sought to create an effective healing environment through incorporation of evidenced-based design elements.  Building Information Modeling (BIM) was utilized to bring the project online ahead of schedule.
