Mercy Partners with Signet Healthcare, Local Physicians on New Jackson Township Health Center

STARK COUNTY, Ohio -- Mercy Medical Center broke ground recently on the new 55,000-sq.-ft. Mercy Health Center and STATCARE of Jackson. The new facility is a strategic, developer-hospital-physician partnership between Signet Healthcare, Mercy Medical Center and local physician practices.

The health center will initially include an imaging center, lab, cardiac diagnostic services, sleep lab, STATCARE Immediate Care Center, Mercy Primary Care – Jackson and offices for Urology One and Tri-County Hematology and Oncology. Construction will be managed by Fred Olivieri Construction Company.

J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. Donates $5 Million to Arkansas Children's Hospital

LOWELL, Ark. -- J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. recently announced the company has awarded a $5 million gift to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock, AR. The gift is designated specifically for the second floor of the new South Wing, which began construction in 2008 and is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2012.

Turner Building Cost Index Unchanged From Second Quarter 2010

Construction Costs Appear to be Stabilizing Following Decline Over the Past Six Quarters; Index down 13.16% from its 2008 Peak

NEW YORK -- Turner Construction Company announced that the Third Quarter 2010 Turner Building Cost Index remains unchanged from the second quarter of 2010. The Turner Building Cost Index measures costs in the non-residential building construction market in the United States.  The Turner Building Cost Index value is 798 for the Third Quarter of 2010. This reflects a 2.68% decrease from the Third Quarter 2009 and an overall decline of 13.16% over the past two years.

Illinois Governor Quinn Tours Healthcare Facilities in Southern Illinois -- Announces $3 Million Capital Grant for Hospital

Highlights New Law Benefiting Rural Hospitals

BENTON, ILL -- Governor Pat Quinn toured several healthcare facilities in southern Illinois to highlight a new law that will benefit critical access hospitals, especially in rural parts of the state, and nursing home reforms.

“It is critical that all Illinoisans have access to the medical care they need to live healthy lives. It is also very important that our most vulnerable citizens are kept safe when receiving care at a hospital or nursing home,” said Governor Quinn. “We must continue to do everything we can, including enacting good legislation, to improve our healthcare system.”
